Your fellow postbac students will push you to succeed. All students have the option of taking an MCAT preparation course which is conveniently located on campus. MCAT preparation is directly integrated into the curriculum.Even if you get the "hardest" OChem professor, you will not be punished for that class having an average that is 20 points lower than another professor's You control your destiny the grading is fair and scaled across the classes. In my class of 17 (the majority of whom did not attempt to link), 7 students successfully linked. This is a smaller program - 25% the size of Bryn Mawr and 50% as large as Goucher. But the percentage of students who successfully link out of Scripps is just as high if not higher than those other programs. There fewer linkages than Bryn Mawr, Goucher, JHU.A linkage allows students to apply to medical school at the beginning of their postbac year and potentially gain admittance contingent upon minimum MCAT scores, grades and interviews. other postbac programs that do not have linkage agreements. The linkages available at Scripps are a great option and one of the biggest (if not the biggest) draw of Scripps vs.They also make it so that you are not competing directly with the other postbaccs for grades most of the time, making for a more supportive and collegial atmosphere. They are hardworking and motivated to succeed. It is a real benefit to mix in with the undergraduates. They want you to succeed because they know you and they see when you put the effort in like I said, you are not a face in the crowd They are available for office hours most days of the week and make themselves available if you need them at other times. The professors are by and large, excellent. You will not be a face lost in a crowd of 50-200+ aspiring MDs, and that counts for a lot. You get to know all your classmates very well and you will help each other succeed. I encourage other alums of Scripps to chime in with additional thoughts and comments. Hopefully this post can be of some assistance. On the whole, show Scripps that you are truly a perfect fitâ? â? a strong young woman who will flourish in a rigorous academic and vibrant social environment. If you're reading this page, it means that you are either a.) beginning to consider applying to a post-bac program, b.) actively applying to post-bac programs or c.) deciding between schools. A visit, especially an overnight, will help you decide whether Scripps is the right place for you. Take advantage of these resources that are generally not offered at larger universities! They are a great insight into the academic, dorm, and overall social life at Scripps. Additionally, special events such as Preview Week (for prospective students) and Spend a Day in Our Shoes (for admitted students) are also available. Scripps offers hour-long campus tours five (sometimes six during the fall season when there is an influx of prospective students) days a week, as well as the option to schedule an â?overnightâ? stay with a student hostess. If you have the option to schedule an interview, do it. If you have the option to visit Claremont, do it.

The more interest you show in the college, the more likely you will be seriously considered for admission. Also, stellar letters of recommendation from teachers, coaches, and/or peers who know you well should help. I recommend being meticulous when filling out forms and supplements. However, prospective first year students with strong academic transcripts and meaningful extracurricular activities are generally seriously considered for admission. In terms of admissions, Scripps generally does not take in many prospective transfer students.
